Our Story

As a college kid I loved two things: sailing, and cooking potatoes for me and my roommates. Although my potato-cooking passion had earned me the title of “Potato King,” I never imagined it would someday turn into a full-time occupation.

The incredible journey of Who’s Your Daddy started almost twenty years later, on a lazy Sunday afternoon, while talking to buddies about crazy food combinations. It turned out that combining potato chips with real bacon wasn’t just crazy, it was crazy good.

After experimenting with a few batches to get the flavor just right, I took a platter of homemade bacon potato chips to a friend’s barbeque. I set them on the table next to other snack options. Ten minutes later, once the feeding frenzy was over and the bacon potato chips gone, I realized I had made a lot of new friends, and had stumbled on something which might turn into a full-blown passion.

I took my new bacony creations to the streets of San Francisco. What happened next surprised no one more than it did me. People’s faces transformed after they tasted them. One woman described my chips as “legal crack.” I sold bacon potato chips to vegetarians! Reporters and bloggers started spreading the word. I was getting e-mails and tweets from people all over the country, asking for Who’s Your Daddy Real Bacon Handmade Potato Chips.

The reception has been equally warm from bars, restaurants and event planners. I still make my chips by hand with real bacon in the heart of San Francisco, and sell them in and around the bay area.
